Immune support

The immune system reacts in very complex and unpredictable ways in chronic Lyme patients, therefore, the “one size fits all” approach seen in traditional medicine leaves a large portion of sick patients without proper treatment.  Typically, immune function is upregulated, which is an overactive immune response commonly found in people with allergies.  In a normal functioning immune system, T and B cells preside in the normal range.

In patients with Lyme, often times one component of the immune system, such as the T cells, is overactive while the other, such as the B cells, is suppressed or in the normal range.  This is an important piece of the puzzle for those health practitioners who are unknowingly treating someone with an overactive immune system with immune stimulating therapies.

Our focus is on to provide overall support to the immune system by transforming immune response with modulating therapies.  Modulating therapies work to bring both increased and decreased immune response into the normal range.  Bringing the immune system into normal range is faster and easier when it is done with other complementary programs such as detoxification and supplemental support.  All therapies work in conjunction to bring the body into a more natural state to enhance the body’s biological ability to heal itself.

Depending on the specific needs of the patient and the patient’s state, some immune support therapies we offer include:

·         Immune enhancement- directed at strengthening our white blood cell’s reaction to viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.  These include herbs, T-cell extracts, pleomorphic remedies and other supplements.

·         Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy- studies have shown that hyperbaric has a immune modulating effect, by hyper oxygenating tissues for overall organ support, all while aiding in the detoxification process

·         Specific Immune Therapies- many herbs, homeopathic remedies and T-cell extracts have been shown to profoundly enhance the body’s immune system to strengthen its fight against illnesses

·         Glutathione- Considered a critical component to a proper immune function, Glutathione is a protein made from amino acids and has shown promising results for many patients with chronic disease due to its overall support for immunity.

·         Neural therapy- a series of therapies, which normalize the function of the autonomic nervous system.  Developed in Germany, this therapy successfully facilitates overall healing to assist in pain management critical to patients who suffer from chronic pain.
